SECTION 1: COUNSELLING
1. COUNSELLING SERVICES
Individual counselling offers guidance for concerns such as stress, anxiety, and challenges related to life, academic or career. Each session typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Counselling is a journey, and some issues may take more than one session to fully address. The number and frequency of sessions will depend on the nature of the issue and will be discussed between the counsellor and the client.
2. COUNSELLING RELATIONSHIP AND EMERGENCIES
The relationship with the counsellor is strictly professional. Any form of relationship that may be deemed inappropriate, such as sexual or abusive behaviour, will be reported to the authorities. To maintain confidentiality and privacy, the counsellor will not accept friend requests on personal social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Primary contact for appointments or changes will be through email or WhatsApp. The counsellor will respond during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, excluding public holidays. You may email the counsellor between sessions, though the counsellor may choose to wait until the next session to discuss the email content, rather than responding immediately.
The counsellor is unavailable after business hours for emergencies. If you experience an emergency and is need of care, please contact your primary doctor, Talian Kasih (15999), or your nearest hospital.
3. CONFIDENTIALITY
The conversations between the counsellor and the client are confidential. No information will be shared without the client’s written consent, with the following exceptions:
- If mandated by a court of law;
- If the counsellor believes you pose a danger to yourself or others, including children or the elderly who may be at risk of abuse;
- When the counsellor believes there is a duty to warn, notify, or disclose to relevant authorities or individuals to prevent harm;
For the best possible care, I may seek consultation from other counsellors or specialists, but your identity will always remain anonymous. If your case exceeds my professional level of competence, I will refer you to the appropriate professional who can assist you further.
4. RISKS AND BENEFITS OF COUNSELLING
Counselling can offer psychological relief from stress, increase self-awareness, and enhance coping strategies. However, it may also bring discomfort, such as pain or sadness, as you explore and confront past negative experiences.
As the client, you have the right to determine the pace of counselling and may request that certain topics not be pursued. You can expect to be treated with respect and care throughout the process, ensuring you feel safe at all times. If at any point you are dissatisfied with the counselling service, you may discuss your concerns with the counsellor or request a referral to another professional.
The success of counselling largely based on the strength of the therapeutic relationship and the effort from both the client and counsellor. While your counsellor will employ various techniques and maintain a holistic perspective to support your progress, the responsibility for lifestyle choices and the work needed for change lies primarily with you.
5. APPOINTMENTS, CANCELLATIONS, AND LENGTH OF TREATMENT
Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your counselling appointment. Clients are expected to arrive on time for all sessions. If you are more than 15 minutes late or must leave the session early, the remaining time cannot be compensated, and no refunds will be provided.
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours in advance. In the case of an emergency, one rescheduling is allowed without additional charges.
6. VIDEO CONFERENCING & PROFESSIONAL RECORD KEEPING
Online video counselling will be conducted via Google Meet, which is HIPAA compliant. If either the client or the counsellor experiences technical difficulties, the session may be temporarily paused or discontinued, and a new appointment will be scheduled. Clients are encouraged to use their own private devices for security and to ensure a stable internet connection before the session. For privacy, clients should be in a quiet, undisturbed environment and are recommended to use headphones or earphones.
The counsellor will not record the audio or video of the session on any device or app, and is not responsible for the security of treatment records on the client’s personal devices. Session progress notes will be kept solely for the counsellor’s reference and securely stored in Google Suite Drive, which is HIPAA compliant and accessible only to the counsellor.
7. PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY
The client agrees not to hold the counsellor responsible for any adverse events that may arise during online counselling services, including lack of improvement, deterioration, potential risks of harm to self or others, or breaches of technology security.
8. LEGAL PROCEEDINGS
The client agrees not to involve the counsellor in legal proceedings. Should legal disclosure be required, all related administrative, legal, or telegraphic transfer fees are to be borne fully by the client.
9. TERMINATION OF SERVICES
Counselling services can be concluded when both the client and the counsellor agree that significant progress has been made. Discussions about termination will take place during sessions, ensuring a mutual agreement on the appropriate time to end therapy.

- Sound healing sessions are non-invasive and designed to support well-being through vibrational techniques.
- These sessions are not a substitute for medical care. Please consult your GP or healthcare provider for medical conditions.
