I was relaxing my body, drifting in the rhythm of a Yoga Nidra meditation, when suddenly a beautiful memory floated into my mind. I welcomed it warmly, as my negative memories had often outshined the positive ones. This particular memory was from a trip to the charming city of Carmel, sometime between 2012 and 2013.
Back then, I flew from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and my friend, in a burst of spontaneity, suggested a road trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea—a small, enchanting beach town tucked on California’s Monterey Peninsula. His university friend tagged along, and before we knew it, we were cruising down the coast in a convertible blue Mustang (oh, those carefree days, haha!).
I fell in love with the city almost instantly. We wandered through its quaint shops and cozy eateries, surrounded by fairytale-like cottages. The whole vibe was worlds apart from the constant rush of Los Angeles. But the moment that etched itself into my soul came at sunset. My friend drove the Mustang slowly, gliding along the seaside road, and there I was, in the back seat, soaking in the golden light with my sunglasses on, feeling completely at ease.
The beach, the seagulls, the sun—they all seemed to move in harmony, and for once, I felt fully present. That fleeting sense of awe and peace was pure magic, and I think this memory lingers because I was truly present to experience it.
Now, as I sit thousands of miles away, listening to the birds chirp outside my window, I realize that little beach town still holds a place in my heart. I quietly send a prayer to the angels and my guides, hoping they grant me the chance to recreate more moments like that. And when they do, I’ll be ready to cherish and treasure them with all my heart.
